OSCI releases Analog extensions to SystemC

A short while ago someone asked me why we needed SystemC AMS. They were thinking along the lines of Verilog and VHDL with their analog extensions, and they were questioning why another one would benefit the industry. To me the answer is obvious – we need it because we live in an analog world and to verify high level models of systems, there is a need to be able to place those models in an environment that mimics the real world. As the size of the systems gets larger, we will soon bump into the problem that those environments are analog in nature and thus needed. The question is – is a behavioral analog that has been added?

Welcome to the ESL community on TechBites.com. This is your community, and you have the ability to send it in any direction you want. The easy way to do that is to rate the material that appears here. That tells the authors what you want to read. Then of course you could provide some of the content too. So sound off in whichever way you feel most comfortable!
