- I'm the senior communications manager for products and solutions at Xilinx. Unlike most of you, the closest I’ve been to building a circuit board is the crystal radio kit I got for Christmas when I was in 5th grade, and back in the day I managed to upgrade my PC’s motherboard a few times until that process got too complicated. Programming? Um…keen ability to program a VCR and that’s about it. Even so, my insatiable desire to learn and explore, and lace face it, just being a nerd, drew me to FPGAs upon my return to the Bay Area after a long stint overseas as a financial news correspondent. Since that time I’ve been on a journey that’s taken me from advanced process technology and silicon architectures, to C synthesis, high-performance computing, embedded systems, software defined radio, and a lot more…there are many angles to cover in this business and it’s a privilege to be a part of it. What I learn about FPGA technology and the applications it enables, I pass on to the community at large through various channels and to the editors, journalists and industry analysts who I put in touch with Xilinx technical experts.
